Author Guidelines

Journal of Security Studies and Global Politics responds to a significant gap in the existing journals in both fields, security studies and in International politics. Areas of interest would include: Global politics, International Relations and Development, Public policy, Security issues, Global Economics, International Law and Terrorism.

Author Instruction

Informative tittle should get the attention of reader and tittle should be in capitals. Complete author name(s) with their postal addresses, phone numbers and email addresses are required. The abstract should be printed after author name(s) and six key words are required at the end. Main headings (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgement(s), References) should be in capitals and placed by the left margin. All manuscripts must have a short title, up to six key words and an abstract (without writing the heading “Abstract” on it). Introduction should contain strictly pertinent references related to scientific work. Materials and Methods should be concise but allow confirmation of observations and repetition of the study. Results should be presented in a logical sequence with important observation along with tables and figures. In Discussion, the finding should be summarized without repeating the data in result and authors should relate the observation with relevant studies.
Plagiarism

Plagiarism of manuscript will be checked before sending for review process. If plagiarism will be found after publication, the Scientific Platform will contact the author’s institute and funding agencies for necessary actions and plagiarism will be mention on published manuscript. International System of Units (SI units) should be used to abbreviate the units. Tables and figures should be in editable form where applicable.

About Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the use or close imitation of the language and ideas of another author and representation of them as one's own original work. Duplicate publication, sometimes called self-plagiarism, occurs when an author reuses substantial parts of his or her own published work without providing the appropriate references. This can range from getting an identical paper published in multiple journals, where authors add small amounts of new data to a previous paper. Plagiarism can be said to have clearly occurred when large chunks of text have been copied and pasted. Such manuscripts would not be considered for publication in the Journals. But minor plagiarism without dishonest intent is relatively frequent, for example when an author reuses parts of an introduction from an earlier paper. The editors will judge any case of which they become aware (either by their own knowledge of and reading about the literature, or when alerted by referees) on its own merits.

References

In running text or parenthesis, single author should be cited in literature e.g Abbas (2016) studied that or (Abbas, 2016), two authors should be separated with and not & e.g Abbas and Muhammad (2016) studied that or (Abbas and Muhammad, 2016) and in case of more than two authors, et al., should be used e.g Abbas et al. (2016) studied that or (Abbas et al., 2016). Chronological order should be used for two or more citations in the text (Abbas et al., 2013; Muhammad et al., 2014; Ali et al., 2015 and Fatima et al., 2016).

Submission of Manuscripts

The manuscripts (written in English) should be according to format of World Journal of Biology and Biotechnology and should be submitted online. Self-citations are highly restricted for publication.

Blind Peer Review Process

Research and review manuscript will undergo the peer review process. The manuscripts will be reviewed (blind peer review) from two different foreign reviewers (not provided by the author) to ensure the integrity of the blind peer-review for submission to World Journal of Biology and Biotechnology, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other.

Review Process Time

It will be 6-8 weeks. Please do expect slight delay if the review period overlaps with a long holiday or Summer/Winter break.

The decisions

The decision about manuscript will be provided to the corresponding author. After acceptance, correction of proofs and transfer of copyrights to Scientific Platform, a paper is published on its turn. Reviews: World Journal of Biology and Biotechnology encourages the submission of reviews by the authors who have considerable attainment in their fields of specialization. Before submission of reviews, the authors are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief at wjb@sciplatform.com.

Proof Read Version and Copyrights.

After satisfactory revision and acceptance, transfer of copyrights and an electronic proof read version of final manuscript will be sent to corresponding authors and only minor corrections in the text (5%) are allowed before publication. The final manuscripts will be available online but it will be published on its turn.

About Authorship

The corresponding (submitting) authoris responsible for having ensured that this agreement has been attained and for managing all communication between the journal and all co-authors, before and after publication (mention in submission process step 7). Any change to the authors list after submission, such as a change in the order of the authors or the deletion of authors needs to be approved by a signed letter from every author. You can not add the author's name at final stage of publication. If you want to add the name of an author, you should provide all the information why author was skipped in the manuscript before.

Minimum Requirements for Authorship

All persons designated as authors should qualify for authorship, and all those who qualify should be listed. Each author should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for appropriate portions of the content. One or more authors should take responsibility for the integrity of the work as a whole, from inception to published article.

Authorship Credit

Substantial contributions to conception and design, or acquisition of data, or analysis and  interpretation of data and b) Final approval of the version to be published.

Conditions a and b must meet the criteria. Acquisition of funding, the collection of data, or general supervision of the research group, by themselves, do not justify authorship.

Authors should provide a description of what each contributed, and editors should publish that information. All others who contributed to the work who are not authors should be named in the Acknowledgments, and what they did should be described.

Minimum Requirements for Acknowledgments

List all contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship, such as a person who has provided purely technical help, writing assistance, or a department chair who provided only general support. Financial and material support should also be acknowledged.Groups of persons who have contributed materially to the paper but whose contributions do not justify authorship may be listed under a heading such as "clinical investigators" or "participating investigators," and their function or contribution should be described, e.g., "served as scientific advisers," "critically reviewed the study proposal," "collected data," or "provided and cared for study". Because readers may infer their endorsement of the data and conclusions, all persons must have given written permission to be acknowledged.

Co-author Contributions

Authors are strongly encouraged to include a statement in the end noted to specify the actual contribution of each co-author to the completed work. World Journal of Biology and Biotechnology allows two co-authors to be specified as having contributed equally to the work being described. Author contribution statement should be clear like the following example:

Example

S.C.W., P.R.J.B., P.V.W. and I.K.T developed the concepts and also designed the experiments. S.C.W. and S.G. performed P. infestans transformations and plant inoculations. P.C.B. carried out confocal microscopy and advised on cell biology. S.C.W. performed GUS assays and light microscopy. A.O.A. and J.G.M. quantified gene expression. Antibody detection of tagged transformants was performed by I.H. and S.C. L.M., J.G.M., E.M.G. and M.R.A. carried out experiments with P. atrosepticum. L.P. conducted all the bioinformatics analyses.

About Peer-Review

World Journal of Biology and Biotechnology aims at rapid publication of high quality research while maintaining rigorous but sympathetic peer review process. Manuscripts (other than those that are of insufficient quality or unlikely to be competitive enough for publication) will be peer-reviewed by two or more experts in the fields, and a decision is returned to the authors in about two months. If due to special circumstance, the review process takes more time, authors will be informed by email. Manuscripts with significant results will be reviewed and published at the highest priority and speed. Possible decisions on a manuscript are:

• accepted as it is

• accepted after minor revision

• accepted after major revision

• rejected

If minor revision is required, authors should return a revised version as soon as possible within 7 days. If major revision is required, authors should return a revised version within 15 days.

About Duplicate Publication

The material must be original and not published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Author is responsible to get permission from previous publisher or copyright holder if an author is re-using any part of paper e.g., figure(s), published elsewhere, or that is copyrighted. The editors consider all the materials in good faith that their journals have full permission to publish every part of the submitted material including illustrations.
