Author Guidelines

1. Plagiarism and Originality

Plagiarism involves using or closely imitating another author’s work without proper attribution. Duplicate publication (self-plagiarism) occurs when an author reuses substantial portions of their previously published work without citation. Manuscripts submitted to Agrivetary will undergo a similarity check, and the similarity index must be ≤18% before review.

If plagiarism is identified post-publication, the journal will notify the author’s institution and funding agencies, and any instances will be documented in the published article.


2. Manuscript Preparation

Language: Manuscripts must be written in English.
Font & Spacing: Cambria, size 10, single line spacing.

Title

  • Length: 15–20 words

  • Should succinctly summarize the research, emphasizing key focus, scope, and significance

  • Clear, descriptive, and engaging titles attract readership and enhance discoverability

Authors and Affiliations

  • Full name of each author

  • Department/Institute affiliation

  • Email address

  • Contact information

  • Corresponding author’s email

Author Contributions
Authors should clearly outline the roles and contributions of each co-author, including conceptualization, methodology, data collection, analysis, writing, reviewing, editing, and funding. Transparency ensures accountability and proper credit in collaborative research.


3. Abstract

  • Length: 250–300 words

  • Must summarize the study’s background, objectives, methodology, main findings, and broader implications

Structured overview:

  • Introduction and context

  • Objectives or research aim

  • Methodology and analytical approach

  • Key results

  • Implications and contribution to the field


4. Keywords

  • Minimum of five keywords

  • Should reflect the main topics of the study and exclude words already in the title


5. Introduction

The introduction should:

  • Present essential background and context

  • Highlight the research gap or problem

  • Define the study objectives or hypotheses

  • Optionally preview the methodology


6. Objectives

  • Clearly state research goals in approximately 200 words

  • Objectives should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound)


7. Materials and Methods

  • Describe materials, equipment, instruments, and reagents with sources

  • Explain experimental design, sampling, study participants, interventions, and treatments

  • Provide data collection procedures and statistical analysis details

  • Ensure clarity and reproducibility without unnecessary minutiae


8. Results and Discussion

Results: Present findings objectively using text, tables, and figures
Discussion: Interpret results in the context of literature, theoretical frameworks, and study objectives

  • Highlight significance, patterns, trends, limitations, and recommendations for future research


9. Conclusions

  • Summarize key findings and their significance

  • Acknowledge limitations

  • Offer recommendations for future research or practical application


10. Conflict of Interest

Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest


11. Acknowledgements

Example: “This study was conducted under Project No. PSF-12432 funded by Pakistan Science Foundation.”


12. Ethical Responsibility

  • Manuscripts must be original and not submitted elsewhere

  • Research involving humans or animals must comply with ethical and legal standards


13. Informed Consent

Authors confirm that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript before submission


14. References

  • Use EndNote software according to the journal template

  • Adhere to SI units for measurements

  • Tables and figures should be submitted in editable format


15. Figures and Tables

  • Figures must be clearly labeled and referenced in the text

  • Tables should include relevant details and units

Example:
Figure 1: Bacterial strains selected: B. cereus (3a), P. aeruginosa (DS4), B. nitratireducens (TP8), E. cloacae (A9G), and Pseudomonas sp. (B3).

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
