Abstract


A spot examination of Bt and non-Bt cotton candidate lines was conducted during Kharif-2020 at Punjab Seed Corporation Farms, Khanewal, on 23rd October 2020, to evaluate fiber quality through Micronaire (microgram/inch) measurements. The study aimed to assess variations in fiber fineness and maturity among the candidate lines, providing a comparative analysis of Bt and non-Bt genotypes. The results demonstrated significant differences in Micronaire values across the lines, highlighting superior candidates for potential commercial release based on fiber quality. These findings offer valuable information for breeders and seed producers to enhance cotton quality standards in Pakistan.
